The Kyuuketsuki are the race of
Malus.
Since this race needs blood from other organic organisms to survive, it was called Kyuuketsuki by the Terran Japanese people, as Kyuuketsuki is japanese from 'Vampire'.
Like with
Alchemists, this name has settled in inter-dimensional use.
The only difference is that all Kyuuketsuki need blood to survive, while not all people from
Aedes are actually
Alchemists.
There are actually a few very powerful Kyuuketsuki Alchemists. It is said that they can store and use much blood, which they can then transmutate at will to use it for Alchemy, in a variety of ways.
Since blood contains many potent elements.
