Title: Quantum Nucleus

Genre: 2D Side-scrolling Action RPG

Players: 1 or 2 Player Co-op (2nd player can join in any time)
The game will be distributed digitally and by limited edition CD case
It should be a free game, however, when finished and all assets are genuine, it might jump to low budget cost, less than 10$. Note: Also third party code such as FMOD cannot be used with commercial licenses for free.

Abstract

Protagonists tries to collect artifacts, level up, explore world and story; and tries to destroy ultimate bad guys who aim to destroy earth for 'greater' purposes.

Short Summary

Sci-fi future. Dimensions have merged. A couple of known and many unknown dimensions are connected to current dimension. 'Alchemy' is introduced due to merge - its basically scientific magic. Protagonist's Nova's body was altered; he is a prototype being. He was also altered in another dimension (Tabula Rasa) during a mission, however this alteration is basically unknown by him and others. He will become aware of this, in the game, when revisiting Tabula Rasa. Nova had a girlfriend, she disappeared/thought to be dead; she is in reality a member of FORIS now. FORIS is the antagonist organisation group in Quantum Nucleus. They are trying to collect the 7 Tesla artifacts and destroy earth. The Tesla artifacts are object with unique abilities, which are a by-product of the merge. Nova collects artifacts through the game, or not, which influences game ending. Every artifact grants the player a special ability.

Prologue: Before the story takes place, as everyone knows, there were no connections to other universes.

In one universe, the inhabitants destroyed themselves and even their whole universe in an attempt to break the boundaries of their universe. Therefore they gathered almost all matter they had in their universe using high speed magnetic rays and other advanced technology, thus creating the biggest curvature of space they could get. A critic value of tolerated curvature of space was exceeded and their universe collapsed in a dramatic dimensional outburst. This incident broke the barrier between several universes by creating, mostly stable, wormholes. The amount of wormholes and universes that are connected and accessible remains unclear, since only a very small amount of these wormholes were found until now. The inhabitants of this universe are referred to as the Tesla. A being known as the Creator sends Havoc to investigate this and by-product effects. As of now, there are 3 beings in existence: Humans, Kyuuketsuki and Alchemists. They are very similar but do have their unique differences. Also there may be a yet unidentified form of living, in Tabula Rasa. Which would make it 4 aside from the ex-race the Tesla.

FORIS is an organisation, formed by beings from all different worlds: Aedes, Malus and Terra. As they formed, they became aware of Shangri'la and gained access.

They plan on using the Lance of Longinus, a massive quantum particle weapon, to shoot at earth. In doing this, earth will initialize defense measures, thus activating quantum particle powered Shields and other high frequency quantum particle emitters.

FORIS' goal is to fire the lance at earth.

Before that FORIS attacks Aedes in order to get the Philosophers Stone, which allows every trained Alchemist to perform <what exactly?> This matter is directly related to Nova's meeting with Asuka at Daedalus. FORIS attacks this ship to get experiment Data and the prototype of what his company tried to create. On board Daedalus, FORIS Scouts understand that Nova is basically the prototype, as his body itself was manipulated through the experiments. Since the prototype is their objective they eventually attack Nova. Asuka, who was following FORIS plans, ever since they were staring to attack Aedes, jumps in and helps you. Nova and Asuka escape via escape pod.

Asuka's Father, Ito-San, is a very important man in Aedes and Head of a Alchemy Company that includes much from Alchemy research to Training and education Academy. FORIS searched here for clues of the whereabouts of the Philosophers Stone. Magnum Opus eventually defeated all intruders that time, which consisted in 2 Guardians and many minions.

Nova was once in Tabula Rasa, though he forgot about it. Since his company made him to the prototype, he was the only logical choice to explore Tabula Rasa. However he was terribly wounded and gained powers in Tabula Rasa which saved his live. His company retrieved him and erased his memory. Thus he has no knowledge of his powers and his trip to Tabula Rasa. Throughout the story he got more aware of what happened, and what he gained. This reached its first height when meeting Havoc and witness her abilities. Later the party goes to Tabula Rasa, and meets Rin. Of course during the trip through Tabula Rasa, that feeling began to rise inside Nova, but when he met Rin, it reached its pinnacle.

After the confrontation between Rin and Nova, Rin ultimately escaped and Nova lost consciousness. Only Isaac remains. As a reaction of Asukas threat, Isaac mentions that there was only one thing remotely dangerous to him right now, Novas hidden ability, but concerning him unconscious. He doesn't know/realize yet who/what Havoc is. Finally Havoc takes some action. All of the sudden there is an unusual strong gust of wind which covers one of her eyes; the other is notably directly staring at Isaac. After sensing the danger Isaac jumps back and is almost affected by Havocs spell. (She can create vacuums). Isaac eventually realizes what Havoc is, and is quite surprised, but eventually calm. Eventually Isaac leaves. Isaac MAYBE LEAVES AN ARTIFACT.

After that the party goes back to a safe location probably Aedes. Then the opening scene happens in which they recapitulate.

The party goes to Mundus Link a scientific facility which researches wormholes that have appeared and often times dissapeared, since the merge. Lately Mundus Link discarded their governmental support and went on to pursuit their own goals using this technology. For that purpose they relocated, basically hiding their facility and build a giant mech like defense system. At first look it seems like a statue of some sorts. When arriving the party walk by that giant mech, thinking it was a statue. But eventually it attacks them as it is a defensive mechanism (BOSS). After that, the party can convince the scientists at Mundus Link to try to locate Shangri'la using the quantum particle signature from the container picked up by Toshiro. The main reason for MundusLinks cooperation is, that they are well aware of FORIS and unusual quantum particle measures which were linked to them.
